Wachusett Mountain – On March 16, 2008, we are going to turn ski slopes in an opportunity to have fun and help others while doing it. Moving Mountains for Parkinson's is coming to Massachusetts and Vermont before the snow melts and you can help. We’ll be at Wachusett and Sugarbush, raising money to help Parkinson’s families with a vertical challenge (ski for pledges) a silent auction and an awards dinner. Our first event was held at Sugarbush and we raised $8,000. This year we are aiming to raise $10 for every vertical foot on the two mountains (Wachusett is 2006 feet high, Mt Ellen is 4,050) so that’s a total of $60,000 and that’s a lot of skiing in just two days. Ski both – Our Sugarbush event is on March 3.

We need you to do more than just ski. This fall and winter, we need skiers and snowboarders to sign up. We need people to help with silent auction donations. We need folks to help get the word out to schools and colleges, companies and clubs about this two-state challenge to a debilitating disease that affects tens of thousands of people and their families in the three states. Proceeds from the events at Wachusett and Sugarbush will go entirely to state chapters of the Parkinson’s Association to support families and to help fund research aimed at finding a cure.

Help a neighbor, help a friend, get up on your skis and snowboards. Get on the telephone. Send an e-mail. Sign up early and help us spread the word. Do it today by calling 802-496-7796 and ask for Gary Crosby. See you out on the snow.
